Joe Dallesandro (aka Joe D'allesandro) was perhaps the most famous actor in Andy Warhol's movie factory. He was born in Pensacola, Florida on December 31, 1948 and after a troubled childhood, expelled from school as a teenager when he punched the school principal on the nose. Much of his youth was spent on stealing cars and getting into all sorts of trouble with the police. Besides supporting himself by prostitution, circa 1964/1965 Dallesandro started to work for Bob Mizer's Athletic Model Guild were he did screentests and modelled for nude shots. Those shots were published over 10 years later in Mizer's publication, Physique Pictorial that listed Joe's birth year as 1946 instead of 1948. It must have been during this time that also a some hardcore gay porn films were produced. Although Dallesandro never said one word about these, at least two movies must be in existence. In 1967 Dallesandro met Andy Warhol during the shooting of Four Stars, and was cast on the spot. Warhol would later comment "In my movies, everyone's in love with Joe Dallesandro". It was the start of a movie career that resulted in over 50 movies and made him world famous.
